Allison is a Speech-Language Pathologist who has provided therapy services to children and adults in Sugar Land and Houston for 14 years. She obtained her Masters of Science Degree in Communication Disorders from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in the School of Allied Health in 2002.
Prior to founding Speech & Motion Therapy, Allison’s clinical experiences have included providing speech and language services in the public schools, outpatient adult rehab, long-term care facilities (serving one year as director of therapy), and private practice. She also supervises and mentors graduate students completing clinical hours and students completing their clinical fellowship year.
Allison has provided assessment and therapeutic intervention to a variety of children and adults with speech and language disorders including Autism, Down Syndrome, auditory processing disorders, developmental apraxia of speech, dysarthria, fluency disorders, aphasia, stroke, traumatic brain injury, dysphagia, voice disorders, dementia, Parkinson’s Disease, and language and learning differences. She is trained in the Beckman Oral Motor therapy program and Nancy Kaufman Apraxia program.
As a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist, Allison maintains licensure by the State of Texas and a Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
Allison currently resides in Houston,Texas with her husband and two young sons. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, running (completed 18 marathons), teaching indoor cycling classes, reading, and participating in church activities.
